Messi is Messi, I'm Paulo, says Dybala

Paulo Dybala has praised Massimiliano Allegri for the role he played in his development after extending his stay at Juventus. "Fortunately it's not serious but it did frighten us", he said. Juventus was superior to us in every way and I'm responsible 101 percent.

"Juventus have respect for Europe and above all are respected in Europe", Allegri told Mediaset Premium.

From the first instance, Juventus took a high intensity attacking pressure right up to Barcelona.

And as impressive as that performance was, Dybala's goals weren't the only things attracting attention - his incredibly low socks got tongues wagging also.

Dybala has had a fantastic two seasons at Juventus since joining from Palermo for 32 million euros (then $36 million) in June 2015. Obviously you're never going to keep superstars like that lot completely quiet but fortunately we had Super Buffon in goal to save the day.

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala signed a five-year contract extension with the Serie A champions on Thursday.

The Spanish press was more effusive about Buffon, calling the 2006 World Cup victor a "legend" and using the word "divine" to describe his save as they raved about him and Dybala being the orchestrators of Barcelona's downfall.

"These are the players who really have to feed the front three and they're not getting the ball to them quick enough".

"I think it's our credit", he said.

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique admitted that it would be hard for his side to pull off another great escape after they again suffered a heavy first-leg defeat in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Buffon, however, was again up to the task, and the stingy Juventus defence held Barcelona at bay for the final quarter of the match.

An early brace from Paulo Dybala and a headed goal from Giorgio Chiellini saw the Bianconeri walk away 3-0 winners on the night, putting them in a great position ahead of the second leg next week.
