Cormier trash-talks Jones after victory

Johnson had kept his decision a secret from all but a few of the people closest to him, with not even UFC President Dana White having prior knowledge of the bombshell that he dropped in the Octagon after the fight.

Three months from completing a yearlong doping ban, Jones, who fights out of Jackson-Wink MMA in Albuquerque, said Friday he is focusing exclusively on reclaiming the light heavyweight title he's lost twice due to suspensions.

Jones will be in the crowd Saturday, scouting the light heavyweight title bout between defending champion Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson.

Anthony "Rumble" Johnson was responsible for the two biggest shocks of UFC 210.

Half of the Sun's picks panel is in harmony with the betting market, while the other half is sticking with the champion Cormier.

Mousasi enters UFC 210 on a four-fight winning streak.

Talking through tears, Johnson thanked everyone who gave him a chance in the sport and Cormier for giving him the opportunity to fight again.

Many fellow fighters believe Cormier may have cheated to make weight.

"I have to talk to my team, but I want to stay at 145-pounds".

"I'll miss MMA and every aspect of the game, but my time is over and I'm ready to watch the new generation take over". If I don't like it I can come back and still fight. "So wins over a guy like Jon Jones is what's going to really, probably be the one thing that solidifies where I'm trying to sit whenever I retire from the sport".

Cormier defeated Johnson to win the vacated light heavyweight title in their first go-round, a matchup that was arranged on short notice after champion Jon Jones, scheduled to fight Johnson, was suspended for a hit-and-run incident that forced him to vacate the title.

Chris Weidman and Gegard Mousasi will also face off on the card, and they will be up just before the main event. But replays showed that when Mousasi threw a knee, he lifted Weidman's hand off the ground, making the shots legal.

"Jimi Manuwa, you don't want any of this", Cormier said.

Not only that, but Johnson landed a head kick shortly before round one ended, which appeared to break Cormier's nose.

What do you make of Anthony Johnson's surprise retirement after the UFC 210 loss?

When asked if a lawsuit against the New York State Athletic Commission, which oversaw the event, is under consideration, Abdelaziz responded, "Whatever it takes". He made quick work in his first lightweight bout since 2011 of Brooks. However, Cormier recovered from the knockdown and earned a third-round submission win. The lines might be a bit reputation-based, but Mousasi has won four consecutive fights whereas Weidman has lost his last two.
