Samsung Galaxy S8 might have opened to an enthusiastic response, but the phone seems to have been plagued with issues. The original Note 7 was initially launched at a market price of around $933 a year ago.
In Thailand, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ were available to pre-order until April 23, with handsets expected to be shipped from April 28. This is understandably attributed to the additional features in the larger S8+ variant. This processor is the Snapdragon 835, which mounts the entire new high-end Samsung, but apparently there have been a lot of rumors about which processor will be used for Galaxy S9 and who would manufacture it.
Samsung claims that over a million units have already been booked in pre-orders in South Korea.
Samsung today announced it will push two software updates to its Galaxy S8 smartphone to resolve issues with screen tint and WiFi connectivity.
It is rare for devices running on Google's Android operating system, such as the Galaxy S8, to require software updates so soon after launch, said Tom Kang, an analyst at Counterpoint Technology Market Research. Samsung made a decision to improve the software for every Galaxy S8 customers since some of the users are not satisfied.
It looks like 2017 is going to be a good year for Samsung.
But then again, I'm also known to drop my phone, and the latest scientific tests from SquareTrade show that the phone is super-fragile. Some users started complaining Saturday that the Samsung fast wireless chargers are not working with the phone. Theories from faulty displays to processors floated around for a while before Samsung provided a solution. Samsung stated that won't happen until "spring," which led to some intrepid S8 users to find other uses for the button, and Samsung in turn to block them from doing so.
