Windows 10 update aims to help identify best photos, videos

The latest build of the Fall Creators Update became available to Windows Insider developers yesterday.

Seeing all of this so early on into this update, I'm tremendously excited to see what Microsoft has planned for us over the next 6 months.

Stay tuned for more from Build 2017. The returning feature, named Files on Demand, will work in a similar fashion to Windows 8.1's placeholders, showing users files stored both locally and on OneDrive, allowing them to download files and folders to the device and keep them in sync with OneDrive. Microsoft is staying totally focused on its recent "creative" bent for Windows, while highlighting its more cloud-centric, platform-agnostic approach to software and services. Millions of users have a PC sitting on their desktop and an iPhone (or an Android phone) in their pocket.

The app is tailored to families and a younger audience without the time or skills needed to edit the media on their mobile devices in to a full video. If Microsoft hopes to get Windows 10 on ARM into users hand they have to deliver hardware that is cheaper than a Chromebook or a quad-core Android Tablet, say $150, with enough power to run all Windows apps. "It's going to give each one of you more of an audience, more users, more engagement in a secure way". An operating system for which people typically expect to have "all the apps"-a reasonable expectation given the association with Windows-isn't as appealing when it actually has very few useful applications". It will be progressive be evolutionary.

These new cross-device features make heavy use of Project Rome app-to-app communication layer, and Microsoft Graph, the unified gateway for multiple Microsoft programming interfaces and graph data. For developers, Fluent Design is built to help users create more expressive and engaging apps that work across a wide range of device and input diversity. You can even leverage a stylus or pen to write on the created images or videos.

Windows 10 wants to follow you everywhere, but not in a creepy way.

This is either really great news for you, or bad news for you. This way, when you move from one device to another you will be able to continue your task without interruptions. The Timeline feature will provide a visual display of what the user was doing and when it was done.

Microsoft will also make a Story Remix app for devices running Apple's iOS and Google's Android to help people share images from their children's soccer games and other events.

Microsoft is also boosting its clipboard to cover all the major platforms.

"Just hit copy on what you want to grab; your photo, map link, paragraph, even an animated gif; and it is ready to paste into whatever you want", he said. And, like all video makers meant for the average consumer, you can add soundtracks, including ones from Microsoft's Groove music service. The feature is available now on Android devices to Office 365 Personal and Home subscribers, and OneDrive business accounts. In the past three hours, the company has unveiled a completely overhauled design for Windows, surprised the world by announcing iTunes is coming to the Windows Store and revealed details of Windows 10's next major update, all during the Day 2 keynote of its BUILD 2017 developers conference.

Better tuning Windows-powered computers to mobile devices could also serve as a "bridge" to what is being heralded as the next big computing platform - mixed reality infused with artificial intelligence, the analyst said. They're handheld controllers for navigating virtual 3D space, with no requirement for markers or sensor lighthouses on the walls around you. The arrival of Creators Update will be this fall. And what the company lacks in naming its next update edition, makes up well for the number of new features that have been added. Microsoft has however reiterated that the update won't be released until it is fully ready and therefore no release date has been set.
