If the Celtics can close out this series and move on to face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals, Bradley will have more opportunities against one of the league's most popular teams to bolster his reputation.
NEW YORK - Boston guard Isaiah Thomas has been fined $25,000 for inappropriate language toward a fan during the Celtics' Game 4 loss at Washington. The home team has won all nine games - with Boston 5-0 at home, where it has won eight straight over Washington.
This season, the Wizards reversed the losing tide by owning their home court and compiling a streak that extended to 17 consecutive wins inside Verizon Center.
(AP Photo/Stephan Savoia). Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens calls to his players during the second quarter against the Washington Wizards in Game 5 of an NBA basketball second-round playoff series, in Boston, Wednesday, May 10, 2017.
Wall said after the Celtics' 123-101 win that the vulgarity took him by surprise.
If the Boston-Washington series goes to seven games, the winners meet the Cavaliers next Wednesday.
In Game 4, the Wizards and Celtics played a competitive first half and were tied at the break, but the Wiz broke the game open in the third quarter when they went on a 26-0 run to secure their fate and tie the series at 2-2. So far, they are 5-0 on their home floor in the playoffs. For the first time this series, Washington didn't have a huge run. All five of the Boston starters got in the scoring column and they had the fastbreak points in their favor 15-0. The home team has won all nine games these two teams have played against each other this season. It won't matter the location if the Celtics' role players produce as they did in the previous meeting.
The main narrative heading into the game revolved around Wizards star point guard John Wall and Boston star guard Isaiah Thomas. The Washington Wizards are averaging 109.8 points on 46 percent shooting and allowing 109 points on 45.7 percent shooting.
This roller-coaster of a series and season between the Celtics and Wizards is heading down the final stretch.
After the Wizards scored the first four points of the game, the Celtics scored 16 straight points capped off by a Bradley three with 7:07 left to play in the first quarter. He did just about everything, which is what we've grown accustomed to seeing this postseason.
UNDATED (AP) - The NBA has taken some money from the Boston Celtics' top player. Compare that to their 125.0 point average and 51.6 field goal percentage in Boston and there is a massive difference. So rather than light up the scoreboard on Wednesday, a hard task with a pair of defenders on him at all times, IT did just about everything else to make sure his teammates could put the ball in the hoop.
One thing has been made clear during this series:Isaiah Thomas can not beat the Wizards on his own. It's often excessive and downright frustrating, but it's one of their deadliest weapons. "Every team is different at home than they are on the road", Wall said. Morris gave some insight on how the Wizards are defending Thomas after Game 4, when he said the following: "We just have to corral him". The Boston Celtics are shooting 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and 75.7 percent from the free throw line.
Celtics fans let it be known early that they disapproved of Oubre stepping back on the court. A bad word at a sporting event - the horror!
Getting back at the hecklers should be the primary motivation for Oubre and the Wizards. Every team would love a two-way big man who can pass the hell out of the ball, pick-and-pop and hit some 3-pointers.
Behind Bradley the C's jumped out to an early double-digit lead and never relinquished it.
