Warriors' Game 5 win wraps up highly-watched NBA Finals

Curry's comment came two days after Golden State defeated Cleveland 129-120 to wrap up their series in five games and earn their second National Basketball Association championship in three years. They were possibly the best team of all-time and certainly the best of the last 20 years.

"Is that why you kept pushing him so hard?"

On Monday night, the Warriors won the NBA Finals with a 129-120 win against the Cavaliers, but it was Kevin Durant's mother, Wanda Durant, who stole the show in the celebrations afterward.

An unprecedented third straight Finals clash between the Warriors and Cavaliers was hyped as the ultimate championship rubber match and expected to be the antidote for a postseason that had little in the way of drama.

But Durant was quick to congratulate last year's champions. Adding the likes of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson among others.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr is a noted critic of Trump and his policies. "It's fun to be part of this". Their dominant run over the past three years has been a source of great pride for its famously loyal and raucous fans. We'll see what happens. He is now 3-5 in his eight NBA Finals appearances.

Does Cavaliers general manager David Griffin look to star free agents or trade deals?

This was Durant's second Finals appearance. How does he not compromise the squad needed to fight past rivals to reach the finals?

Surprisingly, for me at least, last night was kind of cathartic in a way.

"As far as that team, they're going to be here for a while", James said. But like I said, we'll all figure something out.

"For me personally, I left everything on the floor every game, all five games".

With James, Irving, and Love all under contract for next season, the Cavs will be ready to take on the Warriors next year.

These are the first Finals where four players averaged scoring 25 points per game.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - They are called the Golden State Warriors, but they don't belong to all of California.

The Warriors are an unselfish collection of big-time players.

"We don't even have to speak about it", Iguodala said.

One thing is clear - if no one can assemble a truly special team, the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy could very well reside in the Bay Area for years to come. With the addition of Durant, the Warriors found enough ammunition to hold off James. "I don't believe we're a super-team here".
